How Leap Travel uses your data

Leap Travel is a destination alarm app for Android and iPhone. You pin a stop, choose a radius, and we sound an alarm when you are near. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you can delete it. It is written for the Leap Travel mobile app and this website (leaptravel.web.app).

What we collect

Account

If you create an account, we store your email, display name, and a Firebase user ID. If you sign in with Google, we also receive the name, email, and profile photo Google shares with the sign-in. You can replace or remove the profile photo in Settings. Photos stay on this device unless cloud photo storage is turned on for the project.

Precise location, including in the background

Leap Travel uses precise location to show you on the map, measure distance to your pinned stop, and fire the alarm. While a trip is active we may read location with the screen locked or the app in the background. That is the core feature: waking you before your stop. We do not use location for advertising, do not sell location, and do not share it with other apps for marketing.

On Android, a “Watching your stop” notice can stay visible while a trip is running. You can stop a trip at any time. You can turn location off in system settings; the alarm cannot watch a stop without it.

Saved stops and trip settings

Saved places, the alert radius, and alarm-sound choice are stored on the device and, when you are signed in, in Firebase Realtime Database under your user ID so they follow the account.

Notifications and device access

We use notifications, vibration, and wake-lock so the alarm can play. The camera and photo library are used only if you set a profile picture. We do not record audio.

Payments

On the Google Play version of Leap Travel, paid plans are billed by Google Play Billing. Google processes that payment. Other platforms may use PayMongo. Leap Travel does not store card numbers or Play payment methods.

This website

The marketing site does not require an account. The contact form opens your email app. We do not run advertising pixels on this site.

Who we share data with

We use these processors to run the app. They receive only what the feature needs:

Google Firebase — sign-in, account profile, and saved stops.
Google Maps — map tiles and place search while you use the map.
Google Play — app distribution and Play Billing for paid plans on Android.

We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

Account and saved-stop data stay until you delete the account or ask us to remove it. Location used for an active trip is processed on the device to measure distance; we do not keep a travel history for advertising. If you uninstall the app without deleting the account, cloud profile data can remain until you delete the account or email us.

Your choices

Sign out in Settings. Local trip tools remain; starting a trip still needs an account.
Delete account in Settings. That removes the Firebase account, cloud saved stops, and the local plan and photo for that account.
Request account and data deletion on the web, or email leaptravelph@gmail.com if you cannot open the app.
Change or remove your profile photo in Settings.
Revoke location, camera, photos, or notifications in Android settings.

Children

Leap Travel is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update this page and the date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
